Privacy policy
What RACEKIT collects when you use racekit.pro, why, and who handles it.
Last updated 2026-10-17
The short version
- Reading the site needs no account. We collect usage analytics and session recordings to see how the site is used and where it breaks.
- If you send a message or sign in, we keep your email address so we can reply to you or run your account.
- There are no ads or ad trackers, and we don't sell personal data. Some buy links are athletes' own affiliate links, which can earn the athlete a commission; RACEKITdoesn't earn from them.
Analytics and session recordings
We use PostHog to measure how the site is used. When you load a page, PostHog records which pages you view, what you click, the site that sent you, your browser and device type, and your approximate location, which it works out from your IP address. It also records page load timings and error reports so we can fix problems.
PostHog also makes session recordings: a replay of a visit showing the page as you saw it, mouse movements, clicks, scrolling and browser console messages. Replays include what you type into the site's forms, such as a search in the athlete finder or a message in the contact form. Password fields are the exception: they are replaced with asterisks in your browser before anything is sent, so a password is never recorded. Recordings are deleted after 30 days.
To tell visits apart, PostHog stores a random identifier in a first-party cookie and in your browser's local storage. Until you request a sign-in link, that identifier isn't linked to your name or email address. Analytics are sent through racekit.pro to PostHog's servers in the United States.
You can block all of this with a content blocker or by blocking cookies for racekit.pro. Reading the site works the same without it.
Messages you send
The contact form asks for your email address and your message. Both are stored in our database and emailed to the RACEKIT inbox so we can reply. If your message is about an athlete, we may pass it on to the athlete or their manager.
Athlete and manager accounts
Athletes and managers sign in with a link sent to their email address; there is no password. We keep that email address, and a cookie keeps you signed in.
When you claim a page we keep the claim and any note you add. Claims are verified by a DM to @racekit.pro on Instagram, which Instagram's own privacy policy covers. Kit, links and photos you save are published on the athlete's page. From the moment you request a sign-in link, analytics are linked to your email address.
Athlete pages
Athlete pages describe professional athletes from public sources: the equipment they race, their sponsors, nationality, race distances and public social media links. If you are the athlete, you can claim your page to correct it, or ask us to correct or remove information about you.
Who handles the data
A few service providers run parts of the site for us and process data on our behalf:
- Netlify: hosting, including standard request logs
- Supabase: our database, sign-in emails and photo storage
- PostHog: analytics and session recordings
- Resend: notification emails
Links to other sites
Buy links and sources go to other websites, such as brand stores, athletes' affiliate links, YouTube and Instagram. Those sites have their own privacy policies and may set their own cookies. If you follow an athlete's affiliate link, the store or affiliate network may set a cookie so the athlete is credited with any sale.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you, including your messages, your account, or information about you on an athlete page, through the contact form. We keep messages and accounts until they are no longer needed or you ask us to delete them.
Changes
If this policy changes, this page will be updated along with the date at the top.
